Shopping for a great anniversary present is not like a Christmas or birthday present. An anniversary is something special that celebrates the time you have spent together. Before you go to the mall or to your computer, just think about you and her. How long has it been since you did something special together? Could you use some time to celebrate your anniversary? What does this anniversary really mean to you? The woman in your life really needs to know. So when creating or shopping for that anniversary present keep this in mind.

It doesn’t matter how much you spend it is how much thought you put into it. A nice little get away or a seven day cruise is nice but no matter which one you pick make sure to have her in mind. Maybe a candlelit dinner, roses by the fire and a bubble bath for two will do the trick. Men can be so romantic when they want to be and women really do appreciate it. For a man to plan an evening for him and his lady says a lot. Gifts are nice and if this is what your lady wants than by all means get it but not because it is last minute.

As a woman, I would hope that the guy I’m with knows what would make me feel loved. Expensive gifts don’t do it. Gifts that I need I can get myself. I would prefer to spend time alone with my man so we can celebrate our relationship together. It is not everyday that you celebrate love. My suggestion is to plan with her a get away or trip and this could be anywhere. You know your woman better than anyone so think about what would really turn her on. Does she like surprises? Does she like to go away on short trips? A romantic dinner and maybe a piece of jewelry to symbolize the time you have spent together would be nice. Be creative and use your imagination. How about doing something you don’t normally do like prepare a gourmet dinner or go somewhere fancy. Remember to not go over your budget because that could come back and haunt you later.

No time to getaway. Try to plan ahead, your get away doesn’t have to be on your anniversary. You can still make time for a nice quiet, romantic evening alone. You can get her favorite flowers or maybe candy to start off. Perfume is a nice touch and the perfect anniversary card that says just how much you love her. Candles and incense will set the tone for the dinner and the steamy night ahead. Rose petals on the bed, fireplace glowing and soft music will create a night to remember. Remember guys this is your anniversary and you are doing it all over again. You are reliving that day, the day you fell in love with her.

Why go to a beauty salon?

You can learn to style your own hair but when it comes to any type of chemical treatments you should go to a hair salon. Either way hairdressers go to school for 1500 hours and up to get licensed by the state so it isn’t that easy. Problems can arise while doing your own color or permanent waving. Believe me I have seen enough people that come into the salon and ask, “can you fix my hair”?

One reason to go to a salon is so you don’t have to go in later with green or purple hair and ask them to fix it. By the way, fixing it will cost more. Another problem with people coloring their own hair is overlapping which causes hair breakage and hair loss. Our hair is porous, especially at the ends so we can’t overlap or it will damage your all ready chemically treated hair.

Another chemical treatment people do at home is permanent waves and this could be a real disaster. There are so many things that could go wrong. Wrapping incorrectly and getting fishhooks is easy to do if your not experienced. Using the right size rod, solution and doing all the procedures is important for a good permanent. If things are not done right you could end up with burns on your skin and scalp, over processed hair, under processed hair or no hair.

You can always buy a book or ask a hairdresser about ways to style your hair.You can watch videos and read books on how to cut your hair. But for any type of treatments involving chemicals you should go to the salon.

Styling your hair is one thing that your hairdresser will teach you to do. But do you have the foundation to get you started? A foundation is a good haircut, color, body wave or permanent wave. Hairdressers are trained to give the customer whatever style they want and they are trained on how to achieve it. Once you have the style all you need to do is maintain it. You don’t need to go back to the salon for that.

Some people think it is easy to cut hair, but have you ever tried cutting your own hair? As a hairdresser, I cut my own hair but I’ve been doing it for 21 years and I still have problems getting it even on both sides. I would suggest going to a hairdresser to get a good haircut and have them teach you how to style it.

As hairdressers, we want our customers to be able to style their hair so just ask your hairdresser. Remember you are their walking advertisement.
